Individual Counselling for Teens (Ages 16+)
While my practice primarily focuses on young adults and adults, I also work with a limited number of teens aged 16 and up. If you’re considering counselling support for your teen, feel free to reach out for a consultation to explore whether we’re a good fit.
The teenage years can be full of emotional complexity and change. This is often a time of discovering identity, navigating peer and family relationships, and figuring out how to manage growing responsibilities. For many teens, the transition from high school to college or university can feel exciting—but also overwhelming. Shifting expectations, academic pressures, and questions around independence and future direction can bring up anxiety, self-doubt, or stress.
I offer a supportive and non-judgmental space where teens can explore what they’re feeling, build emotional resilience, and develop tools to better understand themselves. Whether they’re struggling with school-related stress, social dynamics, or identity questions, counselling can help ease the transition and foster confidence for what comes next.
The modalities I draw from include:
Person-Centered Therapy
A humanistic approach that emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and helping you tap into your own inner resources for growth and healing.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A practical, structured approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional well-being.
Parts Work (Internal Family Sytems-Informed)
Parts work is a way of understanding that we all have different sides of ourselves—like a part that’s anxious, a part that wants to avoid, or a part that feels hurt. This approach helps you gently get to know those parts, understand where they come from, and create more balance and compassion within yourself.
