Individual Counselling for Young Adults
Young and emerging adulthood is a time of exploration, growth, and sometimes, inner conflict. It’s a phase marked by questions around identity, values, relationships, career direction, and belonging. I offer a supportive and non-judgmental space to help you navigate this transitional period—whether you’re learning more about who you are, unlearning old patterns, or seeking clarity in the midst of change. Together, we’ll explore what feels meaningful to you and support your journey toward greater self-awareness and confidence.
You’re in the right place if you’re:
You feel like you’ve been on autopilot for a while, and you’re not sure what you want out of life or how to show up as your true self.
You’re stuck in a job or career that drains you, and you’re questioning what you’re even doing with your life.
You’re struggling to “adult” and just want to understand yourself better—why you feel the way you do or why things aren’t working out the way you imagined.
You’ve been through something difficult recently (or even in your childhood) and want a protected space to begin processing it.
You’re a perfectionist, and it’s starting to feel like a burden, trying to keep up with all the expectations—whether from others or yourself.
You feel like you’re never good enough, or constantly compare yourself to others.
Fitting in or finding your people feels impossible, and you’re feeling more isolated than ever.
You find it hard to manage your emotions, and sometimes it feels like everything is out of control.
Some days it’s hard to even get out of bed, or just mustering up the energy to do anything feels like a huge task.
You struggle with anxiety, especially when you’re out in the world or around people.
You would like to tap into or build your resilience to face challenges head-on, instead of feeling overwhelmed.
You or people close to you occupy intersecting identities, or are in a multicultural or interracial relationship. You may be experiencing frequent conflict or challenges such as racism, power dynamics, or cultural misunderstandings—and you’re looking for a space to explore and make sense of these complex realities.
The modalities I draw from include:
Person-Centered Therapy
A humanistic approach that emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and helping you tap into your own inner resources for growth and healing.
Feminist Therapy
Explores how social, cultural, and political influences impact mental health, empowering you to challenge inequality and reclaim your voice.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A practical, structured approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional well-being.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Helps you explore, understand, and work through your emotions in a safe, supportive space to foster emotional transformation.
Parts Work (Internal Family Systems-Informed)
Parts work is a way of understanding that we all have different sides of ourselves—like a part that’s anxious, a part that wants to avoid, or a part that feels hurt. This approach helps you gently get to know those parts, understand where they come from, and create more balance and compassion within yourself.
Adlerian Therapy
A goal-oriented, insight-driven approach that looks at your lifestyle, beliefs, and social context to encourage personal growth and a sense of belonging.
I work from a framework that views psychological distress as a natural response to life’s challenges, placing less emphasis on diagnostic labels and more on understanding your lived experience.
In addition to the counselling support, I may integrate mindfulness into our work, and encourage other somatic, Indigenous, or community-based healing practices to support a more holistic approach.
This is a private pay practice, and I do not accept insurance.
However, I’m committed to making therapy more accessible and offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots.
