My Approach
I work collaboratively with you to ensure that any approach or intervention feels right for you. I believe therapy should be tailored—because when it comes to mental health, one size doesn’t fit all. Some of the modalities I often draw from include:
Person-Centered Therapy
A humanistic approach that emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and helping you tap into your own inner resources for growth and healing.
Feminist Therapy
Explores how social, cultural, and political influences impact mental health, empowering you to challenge inequality and reclaim your voice.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A practical, structured approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to improve emotional well-being.
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Helps you explore, understand, and work through your emotions in a safe, supportive space to foster emotional transformation.
Parts Work (Internal Family Systems-Informed)
Parts work is a way of understanding that we all have different sides of ourselves—like a part that’s anxious, a part that wants to avoid, or a part that feels hurt. This approach helps you gently get to know those parts, understand where they come from, and create more balance and compassion within yourself.
Adlerian Therapy
A goal-oriented, insight-driven approach that looks at your lifestyle, beliefs, and social context to encourage personal growth and a sense of belonging.
I work from a framework that views psychological distress as a natural response to life’s challenges, placing less emphasis on diagnostic labels and more on understanding your lived experience.
In addition to the counselling support, I may integrate mindfulness into our work, and encourage other somatic, Indigenous, or community-based healing practices to support a more holistic approach.
This is a private pay practice, and I do not accept insurance.
However, I’m committed to making therapy more accessible and offer a limited number of reduced-rate spots.
